We're in the process of setting up a Clare StarFury-style
gallery, vignettes/conversations and 2 hours of
transcripts of our videotaping of Clare's two Q & A
sessions. The second also with Jonathan Woodward (Knox, etc.)
& his friend Jimmy _______.

Later we'll put up some Q&A video clips.
And Clare also gave us permission to do some video
clips from the Fusion private site interview.

THE PLAN

Due to the informality of this boutique convention in the
Renaissance Hotel a few minutes from the airport, we have
so much material that it will go up in stages. We are also
supplying the Q&A's video on DVD to the Cindy & Candace,
the promoters, for their use. Plus the promised supply
of site t-shirts to be resent to the VIP ticket holders.
In addition to the DVD for Clare.

INTERIM STUFF

In the interim we have selected & uploaded a few images
to illustrate the small, but exceptionally enjoyable event.

Clare says conventions are like her going to summer camp when
she was younger. This convention was more like an extended
family reunion, with some of the family just happening to be
celebrities.

Clare was ...well...Clare.
A great, funny, casual conversationalist and a serial hugger.

When she added the chess club to her activities in high school,
a table consensus was that Clare was a geek - and 'welcome to
the club'.

For us and Clare this was a reunion as if Fusion were only
a few days before. She preferentially, as she said, gravitated toward
those she knew at meals and for conversations. Most of our non-event
photos are from between conversations with Clare.

PALLING AROUND WITH CLARE

After palling around with Clare so much, at meals and walking,
in the elevators and halls, and leaning against the wall late at
night as she sipped her red wine, we have an overload of
conversational info information. Which we need to extract from after-
the-fact notes and memory jogs. If we succeed in getting 80% of what
she passed on to us and others in conversations, we'll consider it as
a success.

There are some things we cannot report that Clare asked us not to.
And some things that she will announce as time goes by that we were
told about.

What follows is a TINY preview of the "Conversations with Clare".

MICHELLE

For the legion of Michelle Trachtenberg admirers, we note the
formally dressed & genuinely be-medaled Derwin has a portfolio of a
series of HQ Michelle photos he took at the recent Toronto Film
Festival.

Michelle was sitting a few seats away and posed for him. Derwin said
he'd e-mail that HQ one of Michelle and others of Michelle &
the "Mysterious Skin" cast on stage.

MARY-KATE & ASHLEY

For the equivalent legion of Mary-Kate & Ashley Olsen admirers,
Clare was talking to several of us about Paris and Jewell Staite's
not finding anything to eat in Paris, while Clare enjoyed the Paris
culinary scene in her short, post-Fusion 'vacation'. Clare noted that
Jewell was watching her food and was on a low carb diet.

"Like Mary-Kate," we said. Clare agreed and said she'd met Mary-Kate
and she was a sweet person. As was Ashley.

Naively we continued, "At auditions?"
Clare laughed. "They don't do auditions."

EMILIE DE RAVIN

For Clare's friend Emilie de Ravin ["Roswell", "Carrie" (2002),
"Santa's Slay" and, of course, as pregnant "Claire" on LOST] there
was a lot of discussion after we and Clare pointed out that they
were friends. As Clare had confirmed for the first time to us at
Fusion.

The sad news about Eliza's series "Tru Calling" apparent fate
came up more than once.

WHEN CLARE RAN AWAY WITH THE LITTLE GIRL

The Clare vignette that follows is simply one of many.
We call it:

"When Clare Ran Away with the Little Girl"

Once, on Sunday, we were walking with Clare to the elevators when she
stopped to talk to the older of two little girls with their
attendee parents.

We did not know it was to become a part of a larger, cute and funny
Clare vignette. So later in the afternoon, when time came for the
photos with the cast, Clare and the insanely funny Jonathan
joked their way thru the queue to the little girl.

Who was obviously infatuated with Clare.

(We love to watch Clare do her thing in photo queues. At Fusion,
we were kept further away...most of the time. Here we simply
sat on the floor about 20 feet away, against a wall, and watched
the hugely entertaining "Clare Show"}.

At first, because the little girl was so small, Clare & Jonathan
did what Clare did at Fusion and began to kneel on either side of
the girl.

Then Clare did the unexpected and scooped the little girl up
in both arms!

Holding her between herself and Jonathan for the photo. Immediately
several in the room called out that that this photo was going to
start some rumors!

So Clare laughingly took off running toward the other door with
the little girl still in her arms, as if to steal her away and
take her home!

Of course, she didn't.

And only the parents got the incriminating photo. But later, as we
walked in the hallway, Clare said wonderingly, did you notice
how after she went back to her parents, she turned and ran back
to me and hugged me?

JONATHAN & JIMMY'S DOCUMENTARY

After the photo session, Jonathan approached us while Clare was
still standing against the backdrop. He still wanted for himself
or Jimmy to videotape an interview with us, as they had with many
already during the con. They are making a documentary about
why attendees and guests came to these conventions. With hopes
of getting the finished product onto a cable channel.

Of course we agreed and it happened later in the day, ten minutes
before Clare left in her white stretch limo at 6:00 PM for a Monday
audition.

So we did what we did to all and handed him one of the little
white plastic site 2004 calendars. Clare loves them and said
she keeps one in her car (actually a Toyota 4Runner) and
another on her desk at home.

Anyway, Jonathan began to read the stuff at the bottom and looked
back at Clare with a puzzled look on his face. So we said, "We're
Clare royalty." Clare was by now now making one of her cute pixie
faces and nodding "YES" vigorously. (The interview eventually was
about 5-10 minutes long).

Clare got back at us during the later photo signing by slyly
slipping in a new phrase, different from her usual ones, on one
of the photos. We didn't notice it until later in the day.

Clare laughed about it.

Because the phrase had multiple meanings, one for us, and another
for something that Clare spoke at length about while we leaned
against that wall on an earlier evening.

PLANNING FOR COLUMBUS CON

Soon, far too soon, and after many more hugs, Clare in her powder
blue insulated vest, said good-bye. As we made plans for the next
meeting in Columbus at the MidOhioCon the weekend after Thanksgiving.

Clare'd previously confirmed that she was coming in on Wednesday to
have Thanksgiving with her parents in Delaware, 20 minutes up the
highway from Columbus. And was trying to get her younger sister
(Callie, who is a lawyer and still lives in Clare's Greenwich village
apartment) to do the same.

And she wanted to introduce Callie to us.

And had earlier decided that she'd wanted to try to set up a site
interview with her father. "I'm like him," she said with pride.
And she laughingly agreed that we could ask him what the 'real'
Clare was like.

We told Clare our original Columbus plans were to stay thru that
Monday anyway and go up to Delaware to get location shots...for a
site Narrative Work. She said Monday might not be needed, since her
contract only called for Q&A, so she'd not be busy most of the time.

[i.e., for one of the early pivotal Narrative Works, "OUR
STORY"(2002), of which, about half the events' narrative takes place
in and over Columbus, in Delaware and on the Marysville road to
Dayton (Wright-Patterson AFB of Roswell fame).

Only a portion of the 14-part Work is currently transcribed from the
manuscript and on-line. The manuscripts, unfortunately, do not come
with embedded illustrative images.]

Anyway, Clare was going to set up something so we could get e-mail to
her through one of the DGM staff, and vice versa, later this week -
to coordinate our Columbus plans. We'd worked with them before
this summer trying to set up a site interview with Emilie.

Clare said she's still trying to help out on the interview, but that
Emilie had gone on location to Hawaii after the Edmonton shoot, and
back home to Australia some and Clare'd barely seen her at all.

Well, thanks, John.

Yeah, in our many conversations with Clare in Toronto,
she told us about something she was working on that we
can't say until she does.

Then on a later day she hinted at it
in one of her Q&A's that we videotaped.

(We spent much of the weekend porting all the video
to DVDs and dropped one in the mail to Clare, like we
did with the May Fusion interview.

We still have an enormous effort ahead to transcribe the
nearly 2 hours of Q&A before we even think about selecting
videoclips).

when we get a good portion of the galleries up (stills and some
selected captures from the Q&As). Mostly pretty much closeups.

Clare is very photogenic and very animated when talking.

Without going back to her Q&As to review the quotes, Clare said in
the Q&A something like she 'had a writing project' ongoing. We know
some more, but can't say until she announces something herself.

As an adjunct, we can note that later in one Q&A, she said that a
year and a half ago, she'd written a play and staged its production
in the L.A. area.

And also (apparently) acted in it.
Her first stage work since her NYC years.

She also left at 6 PM Sunday in the white stretch limo to
fly back to L.A. for a Monday (10/4/04) audition.

Clare's pretty selective about her role choices.
She said she wants only strong characters for her roles.

At the moment, she's hoping that her "Mummy & the Armadillo"
movie gets released after making the rounds of the film festivals
earlier this year.

As for seeing her in her "Skulls III" lead, it's on USA
today and then again early tomorrow morning. (see earlier post).
Definately her role was a strong character. She said in one
Q&A that it probably wasn't a great movie, but it taught here a lot.

Trust us. Clare is extremely smart & multi-talented.
(She graduated NYU with her BFA in less than 3 years;
with about half her Masters degree hours completed).

She's very knowledgeable of her craft and the business aspects of it,
not just the acting portion. Her reading habits, first explored in
detail in the Fusion interview, can only be described as voracious
and widely inclusive.

Even though she tells a story about how she couldn't do a French
accent for a role. So now the only thing her reps pass to her
by way of possible roles with accents is a Southern accent.

One more Clare vignette might suffice at the moment.

It's not about her career, but about her many other activities.
We've all heard about her boxing for physical training.

But there's more.

It seems that, while talking to three of four of us one evening, she
started pulling up her right pants leg to above her knee to show two
bruises, and another on her left arm.

Yes, Clare is on an otherwise all-male paintball team that engages
other teams in combat. And she said she gets her own paintball shots
in OK.

Everything we always believed about the uniqueness of Clare
was amplified several fold in Toronto.

We're looking forward to the next meeting, with the things she's
wanting to do outside the Columbus, Ohio event. (see our earlier
post).

And, oh, yes, we'd sent her several DVDs we made for her birthday,
(9/3) including the several years old Helen Keller Disney movie
version of the "Miracle Worker. With Hallie Eisenberg as the
6 or so year Helen.

We asked one evening how she'd enjoyed Hallie's off the wall
performance. And how had she done her own stage version in NYC
when she was 18 or 19.

To our astonishment, Clare said she played Helen as a 6 year old,
like Hallie did years later. Clare said she crawled around on the
floor and flew into the wild tantrums. She thought Hallie did a
great job for such a young girl.

Clare said she'd send us some images of photos of her as little
Helen from the play and also some of her cats, Zoey & Waker,
for the site.

Clare's just fun to be around as a real person, without all the
barriers of a large convention. Talking to her is a joy.

Although we're pretty observant,
anything of Clare's possible
relationships is her business.

If, and when, she ever wants us to
know, she'll say so.

She's not shy.

If you look back into her past
interviews and stuff, you'll find
little to nothing of a personal relationship
nature divulged by Clare since she
became a celebrity.

Beyond things way back, like she told
us in Toronto that she wore a pink outfit
to her junior prom & her date had a pink
cumberbund, there's nothing.

It's obviously Clare's decision to maintain some
areas of privacy about her life.

These should be respected.

Though she's really open about almost everything else,
as you will find when we get the quite informal Toronto
Conversations/vignettes and Q&A videotape transcriptions
up in the next week or so.

Clare even resignedly jokes at the end of the last Q&A about
her being 30 now...that it's the new twenty. And she can't wait
until she's old enough to play Blanche in one of Tennessee Williams'
works.

Clare is a charmingly complex person.

As we've tried to say in so many ways
since meeting her in person the first
time last May.

Actually there is a real baby girl.
But it's not the REAL Clare's.
It's a case of two people having the same name.

Old Clare rumors... ignore them.

The baby girl, Anabelle Grace, (b. Fall 2002) is probably
the daughter of the OTHER Clare Kramer that was/is
married to someone from NYC back before the real
Clare was on Buffy.

It is confusing, but it is most probably the truth.

Only the Real Clare has credits on imdb.com and is an
SAG member under her real name: (Clare Elizabeth Kramer)

This other Clare Kramer had a few similar credits in L.A. &
Vancouver back before 2001, when the REAL Clare's search results
numbered a few hundred. Later this other Clare Kramer
became swamped by Clare's thousands of search results.

We actually are aware of many more details about the
likely other Clare Kramer from a private source.

But we can't talk about it except to say that she is a
proud Mommy and follows the REAL Clare's activities with
surprisingly deep interest.

And we mentioned her to the REAL Clare Kramer in Toronto
earlier this month, briefly. Clare was surprised, to say
the least.

News to her.

Clare said she drives a Toyota 4Runner (we misspelled it
the first time). She's had, she said, 8 "backup wrecks"
in it so far.

Since she still has it, we assume her "wrecks" are backups
into other objects. This style SUV looks pretty sturdy in back,
so it probably was the winner.

We've got our templates up for the "Clare in Toronto" galleries,
conversations/vignettes & transcripts of Clare's two long Q&A's
that we videotaped, transferred to DVD and mailed to Clare.

We've chosen a pumpkin fall color variation of our usual Starfury
formats.

The only new stuff yet up is a vignette of when Clare arrived
at the hotel in her limo in the Vignettes. The content should give
all a peview of the detail that is to come, as in our earlier two
interim posts. Leaving out anything deemed too personal, or that
Clare said not to report on.

The rest will be more fun doing than the templates were.

Noticed that when viewed with a normal monitor,
unlike the high-end flat screen ones that we use
exclusively here, the 4 captures and their thumbnails
were too dark.

So we brightened them a lot.

Our monitors must be substantially different.

the perfect idol for young girls. And although I idolize noone...I
look up to Clare very much, I love her and her work. I think she is
the absolute best. She's my favorite actress ever! And I totally
respect and admire the h*** out of her. Sorry if I am going on , but
I feel very strongly about this! I still get upset when I llok at my
calender and see that date on there and know that she is going to be
only a couple hours away from me and there is nothing I can do about
it. It royally sucks. Anyways, thank you for all you updates and
help. I really appreciate it.

You're right to be so intrigued by Clare.

Many have been so since she first broke down the warehouse door
in "No Place Like Home" (Oct 2000 ?) on Buffy as Glory.
Sort of casting a spell on them. (And a few that saw her in
"Bring it On" earlier that summer).

A female goddess right out of pre-civilization/classic legends.
Right before our eyes. Casually throwing around the supposedly
nearly invulnerable Slayer like a sack of flour. You knew she'd
have to be somehow 'eliminated' by the end of the season or
the series'd have to be renamed, "Glory the Goddess". Hmmm,
or "Glory is a God" ?.

In person, she's exactly what you might think her to be.
Talkative, intelligent, sort of a downhome midwest/southern
accent until she starts talking fast, or loud.

We always see Clare's eyes as gray.

Lighting can make them look somewhat different.
As with Michelle Trachtenberg or Emilie de Ravin.
All with, to us, obviously also with gray eyes.

Several of our May 2004 photos from Blackpool, England,
galleries show pretty gray eyes. But there are always
colored contacts. However, we've yet to see a well-lit
photo of Clare with anything but gray eyes.

If you didn't think she was smart and extremely knowledgeable
before, you will after that. Look at her reading habits for one.

That she somehow balances with her many physical activities and
such. She's looks great and obviously keeps in good shape.

Probably the best way to get something to Clare is via
regular mail C/O of her manager. As long as it remains
positive in content, it should get passed on to her without
question. If not, it could start being sent back.

As far as her responding, not very likely.

NEWS UPDATE - SEPTEMBER 30, 2004

"Clare wants to forward her appreciation and thanks to all those who
sent her cards and messages for her birthday on September 3. They
were all very gratefully received, and they helped make Clare's
birthday extra special this year."

She doesn't accept e-mails unless she personally sets up a way for
her management to receive them and get them to her, and vice versa.
She did this for us after she got back from Toronto.

We encourage you to join Clare's forum and examine the 2003
posts we and others did to get most of her older interviews
in one place. We had many of them linked from prior years in our
Clare News (2001- now).

We encourage you to stay tuned to the rest of the Toronto stuff
we're working on to get up. You'll enjoy the Conversations/
vignettes when we finish. And Clare had some new comments during her
Q&As that we'd not heard before.

Clare signs her photos (& yes you pay typically $20 equivalent
for a photo with her that she later personalizes). She does sign
other things. Though the UK events have restrictions. In Toronto she
signed additional things like trading cards, convention badges, her
photo in an old STUFF magazine, and god knows what else.

But this was a truly different convention.
As we posted, it was like an extended family reunion, not
a Fusion with 1,800 attendees in one hotel.

As long as Clare was downstairs and not in a scheduled event,
she was talking to us, as individuals or in small groups.
By the second day she seemed to know everyone by name.

Several times we would accompany her to her floor in one of the pair
of elevators. Then either get off before Clare, or let her off
on her floor and go back down to our floor.

Of course, we're really looking forward to seeing her in Columbus
after Thanksgiving. With her own idea of getting her sister Callie
to come in early with her from NYC and them spending the holiday
with their parents before the convention. Where all her contract
calls for is Q&A. Which is easy for her.

Plus introducing Callie, her lawyer sister. And possibly doing the
site interview with her father, Terry, whom she said she was so much
like.

Like she said, "I'm the the original CK. Callie is CK2 and my father
is TK.". After we mentioned that Christian Kane also claims CK,
she reiterated she was the "original" CK.

And, you're rght, we don't know her mother's name. In the
2nd Q&A in Toronto, she gave out information that her mother
had danced professionally with a ballet company in Columbus
(20 minutes drive from their home in Delaware).

We'll get to that as we transcribe the videos.

up, we could pursue them, as long as they're not too personal,
with Clare next month.

All this stuff takes quite a bit of time.

We expect the transcription of the almost 2 hours of
Clare's Q&As to consume 4 or 5 days to get on paper and then mre
online.

The 21 minute Fusion interview took most of a day.

Mostly because, though it's easy to hear Clare, any one asking
questions to the side is harder to decipher. Then there are spelling
& interpretation verifications for some things Clare and others say
that are not obvious.

Like, when she finished the first Q&A, we never figured out what was
shouted from the audience as the last question that caused her to
burst into such loud laughter.

Then, while proof-viewing the final DVD we mailed to Clare, we
finally realized the shouted question was "...and Ben's Glory?"

The Conversations/Vignettes are actually harder, because we have
these barely legible cryptic notes written that have to be translated
and then made into a readable vignette.

At Fusion we "interviewed" and talked to lots of other people than
Clare. And have 51 pages of similar notes that we still haven't
translated and written into vignettes. Along with the behind the
scenes photos we took that show what it was like to be at a huge
convention, when we weren't at a Clare event.

It is our hope that all that Clare is planning for Columbus &
Delaware will happen.

Meeting Callie and her parents, and taking location shots around
Delaware, Marysville and near Dayton for the long ago completed
2002 manuscript "Our Story".

And, yes, we'd like to take some photos of both of them together,
if that comes to pass.

And, yes again, there is a Toronto vignette about Callie (CK2).

Though she is 3 and 1/2 years younger than Clare, she's lots taller
and also blonde. And Clare said that after she quickly passed her up
heightwise, Clare was in the awkward position of having to wear
hand-me-down clothes from her younger sister.

Callie is a lawyer, as we noted, and still lives in Clare's NYC
Greenwich Village apartment.

Clare is rarely without heels.
She had some sort-of-tigerish-patterned pumps &
her usual high heeled boots in Toronto.

With them she's maybe 5-5 or 5-6.
Maybe 5-7 at a wild stretch.
Look at Clare next to guest Jonathan
(blue suit) or with the little girl
before she bends over.

Clare was partially a good fit for Glory because she and Sarah

Beside the young Michelle/Dawn, they were about the same size,
the period when Glory had her captive. Glory was wearing some
sort of martial artsy looking slip on flats then. at some point,
we faintly recall.

Michelle since then has shot up to 5-7.

In Season 7 she sort of towered over 5-2 Sarah, and it was
noted specifically in their dialog in LESSONS.

Had Glory & Dawn appeared together in Season -7,
Dawn would've been noticeably taller.

Our Observations.
Probably correct.
Within reason.

Actually it's not that important.
Clare's beauty and personality and
intelligence are taller than any inches.

Now the really tiny person is her friend Emilie de Ravin.

When she first appeared on Roswell as Tess, it was apparent she
was really petite. On BeastMaster she was always standing on a
rock on in a tree, or something.

As the Demon Curupira.
To her Clare is a giant.

Ah, well.

Actually, nothing prevents anyone from looking up Clare's managment
firm and contacting or e-mailing them. Others do it. The real
question is who are you really talking to?

There several DGM assistants.

Some might answer questions, others might not.
Talking directly to Darren is also a possibility.

Who can say what is possible?
But Clare is very protective of her personal privacy.
And DGM seems to make sure that continues.

Otherwise Clare be inundated with e-mail and phone calls
from strangers and unable to do aything else.

Think of being in her shoes...uh...boots.

Well, as far as Michelle goes, only were
able to offer up earlier this month the
Toronto Sunnydale 3 sourced HQ photo of
Michelle.

But, as we have started putting up the

...we did remember a Dawn discussion that we noted in a convention
event, a Glory discussion - which Clare, not in that discussion,
later surfaced independently as a variation of her belief that Buffy
should've made a deal with Glory and avoided all the
things that happened later.

The general statement we used was, that since all Glory wanted to do
was to go home, and Buffy had allowed both Spike & Angel to live even
after all their centuries of vampire atrocities, why not simply hand
Dawn over to Glory and end it all there?

Dawn was still pretty much expendable at that time.
Buffy knew she wasn't her real sister, but a thing the monks made.

Clare was more charitable in her Q&A, she simply said it was
something that made sense to her as Glory. Whom we, and Clare, all
agreed wasn't evil, just misunderstood.

Sending her back home to do her killing thare would leave Sunnydale,
Buffy's only true concern, free of her predictable revenge rampages.

We suggested to the others, including a very Buffy lore knowledgeable
fanfic writer (Sunny D'lite ??), that handing Dawn over to Buffy that
time Glory visited and told Buffy she ought to worship her, was the
ideal time to fork Dawn over to Glory's tender
mercies.

Before Buffy became even more attached to her.
At that juncture, no one had even suggested that
Dawn would be harmed in the process.

That came later on the season as the script writers had to begin to
demonize Glory to allow her to be 'eliminated' in some way. As they
did with Ben for the same reason.

That would've changed Season 5 rather abruptly as the gang and the
Watchers had to help Glory in her quest to go home. Or face the
troubling possibility that she would stick around and might get more
annoyed.

As did happen.
Sounds familiar.

Yeah.
Try our site's iniitial works "Beyond the Portal" (2001)
and "Dawn the Last Slayer"(2001).

The added bonus in the 4 part latter work is the tale within the work
as Dawn is told by the other dimension Glory's (GH) new pregnant
female host regarding that other dimension's experiences, where Dawn
and Giles cooperated with them to plan to help that Glory to go home.

Until Buffy went insane from the stress, became a serial Slayer of
her male dates/partners, and then killed helpless Dawn. Insano Killer
Buffy drank the Key blood of the dying Dawn and became a super-
Slayer, an insane near god of sorts.

And then killed all the rest of the gang.
Oops!

Before GH, Las Cruces Tess (Roswell) and Curupira managed to kill her
Destroying any change of getting that Glory home - in that parallel
dimension.

Hence Plan-B, hijack the other dimension's Glory tower at the last
minute.

(This is why there were 2 Keys. Both made in the distant past by
Curupira from the 5-inch tall Dawnish Fairy Queen, Keelee).

That too failed, and their Plan-C was the pregnancy of the new
host...who would, years later become the Queen of the Pantheon in
Glory's Palace.

Since there is a sort of karma about these things, the dead Dawn and
her insane 'sister' Buffy managed to resurface, via the leaderless
Fairy Realm fairies, and were inserted into the last dimension Dawn
at her creation from the Key, and Buffy at her flawed resurrection.

Explaining much that the TV script writers failed to recognize.

"I Glory - A Palace Christmas" (2003) rectifies these omissions as
the LR dimension Glory (Lucy) tells all in a series of monologs
within the Christmas-themed work.

Clare's 2002 "D.E.B.S." short has been discussed
since the summer of 2003 when both gloryisagod.com
and the French Clare site found an online video.

The DVD itself has been available since Jan 2004
from Power-Up, as part of the "Girls on Film II"
collection. This DVD was shown on Sundance once
this summer. And D.E.B.S.(2003) (the 7 minute short)
premiered on Sundance alone twice in the past few months.

Power-Up announced some months back that the short itself
would be available elswehere later this year.
